Greensboro First United Methodist Church is a community of people growing together in God's grace and love. We invite you to join us on our spiritual journey of grace. It does not matter where you are on your spiritual journey. If you are a longtime follower of Christ, new to faith, or still figuring things out--you are welcome here!
Sunday Worship Services
Join us in Worship on Sunday at either our:
South Campus on Carey Station Road at 9 a.m.
North Campus on Broad Street at 11 a.m.
Worship services last about an hour.
What will I experience at Sunday worship?
After you park in one of our first time visitor’s parking spots, you and your family will be warmly welcomed at the door. Our greeters are there to make you feel comfortable and always glad to help. They will answer any immediate questions you may have. Before the worship service, be our guest for coffee and fellowship. It is a perfect opportunity to get a feel for who we are.
Children are encouraged to stay in the worship service, but we have a nursery and Children's ministry programs available at each worship service. Family worship is important to us.
Our Sunday morning worship services at both of our campuses are generally identical, traditional in nature and include communion on the first Sunday each month.
We are a musical congregation and praise the Lord with music that spans old-time standards, gospel and some of today’s contemporary Christian songs.
Our weekly sermon is the focal point of Sunday worship. The sermon will be practical, bible based, something you can relate to and put into practice. Every Sunday worship service concludes with an opportunity for you to bring your concerns and prayers to the Lord providing you with a grounded start and a good feeling about the week ahead.
What should I wear?
We are in the heart of Lake Country, so most people live at a relaxed and slower pace. Don't feel pressured to wear a suit and tie or fancy dress to worship. Most people wear business or weekend casual. Look at the pictures on our website to see how our congregation usually dresses.
Most importantly, remember God cares about our hearts, not our outward appearance.
What campus should I visit?
We suggest you make that decision based on either the worship time that works best for your weekend schedule or the location closest to you. We will be happy to see you at whatever campus you attend.
How can I become a member?
It is wonderful to have first-time and repeat guests worship God with us. We hope you feel welcomed. Sometimes, guests who regularly attend worship express a desire to become a member of our church. In the United Methodist Church you can become a member in the following ways:
If you have never been baptized, you will prepare for baptism.
If you were baptized as an infant or young child and have not made a profession of faith and been confirmed, then you will prepare to reaffirm your baptism when you take the membership vows.
If you are a member of another part of the church (such as Baptist, Presbyterian or Lutheran), then you can transfer your membership from that church to a local United Methodist Church.
If you are a member of another Christian church that does not transfer membership, you can make a profession of faith and be received as a member.
Most importantly, we encourage you to talk with one of our pastors about becoming a member. Our pastors will gladly answer your questions and help you discern what next steps to take.
